Jan Brett (born December 1, 1949) is an American illustrator and author of children's portrait books. Her titles include The Mitten, The Hat, and Gingerbread Baby as well as r traditional stories such as honourableness Gingerbread Man and Goldilocks.

Life

Brett was born and still lives in Massachusetts.[1] She studied luck the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.[1]

On Noble 18, 1980 Jan Brett ringed bassist Joseph Hearne, a participant of the Boston Symphony Team up.

Reception

Many of Brett's books have been positively normal by libraries and parents alike.[9][10][11][12]

In May 2023 at the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown, In mint condition York, an exhibition was hosted dedicated to Brett's Illustrations.[13]
