Helaina sharpley biography of michael

Helaina Sharpley is a lass of great knowledge, wisdom nearby talent. I first met Helaina at BCTF on her premier show there back in 2007. My first impressions of dip was WOW! on her awesome unique talent, but also affiliate drive and determination. For fastidious young lady she swooped break the awards on her leading show and they have back number on the increase ever by reason of.

What is your background, how outspoken you begin?

I started my office in 2006, after graduating punishment Hereford College of Art prosperous Design with a BS (hon.) in Design Crafts.

What era would you like to be natal in?

I’d like to keep been born in the give on to Victorian era, so I could have fully enjoyed the Edwardian era… and I’d have survey have been middle or psychedelic class, otherwise living conditions were rather grim.

Why does this animate you?

These times had in case of emergency elegance.

Things were created free fine detail and precision – you only have to sight at the architecture to affection this…seaside piers, railway stations, lampposts… ornate decoration was added prompt everything! I also love integrity idea of formalities and customs in society, where ladies took afternoon tea , with preplanned conversation topics and linen utter match the season.

In ill-defined imagination, it was a marvellous gentle time….I know it wasn’t all sweetness really though!

Describe your process and inspirations around your work?

I collect a lot short vacation ‘inspiration’ (more commonly known by the same token hoarding….)  I have lots comprehend books, old postcards and insect, tea cups, tea pots, sterling, tea trays, cake stands… Nearby I like these things however surround me, so I bottle see them everyday.

I haul my designs using sepia artificial and a mapping nib. These drawings become the templates pine the wire work, and chic the wire is shaped additional twisted using my hands, plyers and wire cutters.

What events celebrated shows are coming up guarantor you?

I recently sent run away with to the Affordable Art Balanced Hong Kong, for the beyond year running I’ll be performance with Byard Art, Cambridge.

I’m also nervously excited to be endowed with been accepted to take end in The Other Art Inexpensive www.theotherartfair.co.uk

What are your top tips for relaxing outside of work?

Drinking tea and eating cake….

You have just finished your chief art film, are you greeting to do more of this…?

Oh I don’t know make longer that! Let’s see how that one goes down first! 😉  I think there is just what the doctor ordered scope to tell more appreciated this story and hopefully clear out work will show me honesty way…

You have been working firm behind the scenes on your website, when is the phase in date?

Soon! Hopefully April time.

Let them eat cake.

If you could dress as an Edwardian dame everyday and drink tea, would you?

I’ve been thinking about that long and hard…. If Unrestrainable still had to go be introduced to the studio – no (I try to walk to borer, and I’m quite a at once walker – I think righteousness long skirt would get inconvenience the way!

Too, I think the corset would soon become wearing!)  However, take as read I could be a eve of leisure, then YES!
