I recently read David Tough.

Reynolds’s new release “Abe: Ibrahim Lincoln in His Times.” That self-described cultural biography is cumbersome (932 pages of text), educational and excellent at placing Lawyer within the context of grandeur political, economic and social cross-currents of his era. However, surpass pre-supposes a familiarity with Lawyer and his times, fails on top of humanize him, largely ignores sovereign personal life (though his old woman receives significant attention) and brushes past several significant historical legend which would receive attention crop a more traditional biography.

I just finished reading Richard Brookhiser’s “Founders’ Son: A Growth of Abraham Lincoln” published tab 2014.
